The Museum of the City

The Museum of Caceres is located in two historical buildings of the old town, declared Patrimony of the Humanity for the UNESCO.There are two levels, with archeevenness of half a point and toscan columns in the low floor. The most important contributions were the gargoyles, the auctions of ceramics enameled of the cover and the shields of the front. The initial idea of the Museum of Caceres arises already in 1889 with a collection of archaeological and artistic objects. In the photo, the arabic cisterns.

Roman bridge of Merida

The bridge was one of the first works raised in Emeritus August. Being constructed in a strategic way, to protec the colony and the oriental territory of the peninsula. The bridge consists with 60 arches and a length of 192 meters. In spite pf having suffered several restorations, still it is posible to observe his primitive construction.

Route of the Silver

The Romans planned definitively this historical tour, replete with works of art, which connects two ends of the Iberian Peninsula. It supposed the fundamental prop of the lands of the West, longed trophy of all the conquerors.Between oaks it advances the Roman causeway to Plasencia's suburbs, towards the hermitage of the Virgin of the Port. To walk along her is to enter at once the machine of the time to end in the Roman epoch, when his brilliance had this road link that was articulating the whole peninsular west. To this first image of the route there is superposed that of a monumental Estremadura that narrows concerning Plasencia's cathedral or, rather, to both cathedrals, since the Renaissance one is followed by the Gothic one that was saved from the pillory for economic reasons. Stone golden refulge in Plasencia's ancient neighborhood and turns in work of main art in the palaces of Mirabel and of Monroy.

Prey of Proserpina
The Roman prey of Proserpina this one placed to approximately 5 km of Mérida, at the foot of the saw of Carija, and Las Pardillas form a small reservoir in the creek the, across the river

Alange

The Acueduct of Miracles (Mérida) (María Gragera & Esther García)
It arises from Proserpina's reservoir, Roman work that possesses o dike of 500 meters of length, and that was providing with water Merida, after overcoming a tour of 9 kilometres, of which the beautiful aqueduct of the Miracles was forming a part. It dates to the 1st century. Its structure, of approximately 800 meters of length, was composed by triple arcade on props of hewn stone and brick of 25 meters of height, which overcomes the valley of the river or creek Albarregas and to finish in the warehouse of water distribution, seated in the Hill of the Calvary already inside the city. For the bridge of the river Albarregas, placed to the north of the city close to the aqueduct of the Miracles, the causeway was spending Route of the Silver. In the city thermal sets have been located so much public - thermae - as private roads - balneum-. They were started constructing in the S.I B.C. and continued getting improved and being created nuavas up to the S. The IVth. In the street Baths are a few remains of public thermal baths. The theatre was built IN 16 A.C. Marco Agripa was the best promoter. More or less 6000 persons could enter inside. The theatre is a place civil where greek's playswere interpreted. It had got: “cavea”(tier), “oschestra” (place where the choir was), “proscenio” ( place where the actors act) and “scaena”. The tier was distributed according to the social class. In the external of the theatre, a garden was built wiht an arcade.
